YOUR GUIDE
Trekking Peru - The Salkantay Trail
Our lodge to lodge trekking trip in Peru offers an exciting new way to trek to Machu Picchu. The itinerary offers spectacular trekking in Peru along an Inca Trail (but not the busy one), passing under the beautiful 6000m peak of Salkantay. Along the way, we stay in fantastic lodges which offer comfortable and stylish accommodation each night.
We use a number of different local guides for this trip, one of which is Jesus Cardenas, who I was lucky enough to have as my guide when I trekked the Salkantay Trail in Spring of 2012.
Jesus is proud to be from Cusco and to be a descendant of the Incas. He hopes he never has to leave his native city, as he loves being an ambassador for his culture. Like many of our guides, he has led trips throughout Peru for the last 15 years and his funny, easy-going personality certainly kept our group entertained.
Not only will Jesus keep you safe on the trail, but his bird, flora and fauna identification skills will put even the most educated in these fields to shame!
