Lions, Rekero Camp, Maasai Mara Like many of you I am sure, I have been glued to the TV watching the recent Big Cat Live broadcasts from the Maasai Mara. I was thrilled to see Jackson Looseyia featured as a co-presenter and the special emphasis which has been placed on Maasai culture and guiding.  Jackson is one of the owners and senior guides at Rekero Camp in the Maasai Mara, where we often send our guests.

Shivling Peak, India - trekking adventure Kalindi pass The wonderful mountain of Shivling, "the phallus of Shiva", may be the most stunning peak of the Garhwal region. Many consider it to be the most beautiful mountain in the world!   Its spectacular form is often compared to that of the Matterhorn as it rises as a sheer pyramid above the snout of the Gangotri Glacier. After British exploration of the Gangotri Glacier in 1933, a German expedition undertook a reconnaissance of Shivling in 1938.

Wildlife in Bolivia seen on a trekking on holiday Having just returned from a recent research trip to the high Andes, I am looking forward to the various wilderness adventures scheduled for 2008. The main purpose of my visit was to look at the scope for greater integration between adventure / ecotourism in South America and nature conservation efforts in many of the fragile and threatened ecosystems of the Andes.
